Instructions
The
medical service that I seek, requires a surgical
process that will be practised in the free standing
variety, which, according to the international
rules, requires one to adhere to the rules listed
below.
On
the day of your appointment
- Fasting
of liquids, solids and tobacco during 6 hours
prior to the operation.
- To
be accompanied by a responsible adult who may
not be disabled, not illiterarte and who will
remain with you during the next 24 hours.
- Bring
two self adhering maxi-pads (sanitary napkins)
for use after the abortion.
- Bring
picture identification with date of birth for
yourself and guest.
- Payment
in full is required at the time of your appointment.
Personal checks will not be accepted.
Additional
Instructions
- To
inform the doctors about all the illnesses,
medications and toxic habits and to answer truthfully
to all their questions in relation to one's
health.
- Please
take a bath or shower the day of appointment.
- As
there are unavoidable periods of waiting, you
may wish to bring a book or some needlework.
If someone accompanies you, they may stay with
you during these periods.
- To
follow the general and particular instructions,
as well as the medication that they will give
you.
- To
have a telephone at home or emergency services
near by, or accesible.
- To
know that the operation will be practised in
a free standing centre and if there would be
any complication, it would be moved into a hospital.
- To
know you have been advised not to drive or to
do activities that require normality of reflexes
during the 24 hours following the operation.
- That
you will have asked all the necessary questions
in order to resolve any doubt prior to the operation.
- It
is important for you to be on time for your
appointment, otherwise it may be necessary to
reschedule the visit.
- If
you will not be keeping your appointment or
if you are going to be late, please call as
far ahead as possible. This will enable another
woman who might otherwise be turned away to
fill your appointment. If you have any questions

- Expect
to be at the clinic approximately 3-4 hours.
Included in your visit will be medical tests,
ultrasound, pelvic exam, counseling, the procedure
(average length 10 minutes) and your recovery
time.
